With the purchase and autocrossing of a Subaru 2.5 RS in 1999, Eli found in motorsports a terrific adrenaline rush, great camaraderie with other participants, and ultimately, satisfaction of a racing ‘bug’ that he had suppressed for many years. After only a few autocross events at San Diego’s Qualcomm Stadium in his Subaru, Eli began winning his class and, later that year, clinched 2nd place in the G-Stock class 2002 Solo2 Championship. As is the case with many rally spectators, Mindy’s love of rallying was stoked at the first event she was able to see up close and personal, the 2006 Rim of the World Rally. At this historic event, which would prove to be the last running of RIM in the mountain stages surrounding Los Angeles due to new US Forestry Service restrictions, Mindy used her press contacts to go behind-the-scenes to access areas most can only dream of.
